Call for Applications: Visiting Scholars for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
The HYGIEIA Master’s Programme is now accepting applications for Visiting Scholars for the
academic year 2025/2026.
We welcome applications from experts in the core fields of the HYGIEIA programme. Visiting
Scholars are expected to teach for a minimum of four consecutive days, with the exact
schedule to be arranged in coordination with the host university.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must submit the following documents in English.
- A copy of a valid ID
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Letter of motivation explaining how your expertise aligns with the HYGIEIA programme
- Relevant academic certificates, including PhD certificate
- Two letters of recommendation
- Proof of English proficiency (minimum IELTS 6.0, Cambridge First Certificate, or
equivalent)

Selection Process
Following an eligibility check, the Academic Board will interview the best-scoring candidates. Selection will be based on their qualifications, motivation, and how their expertise aligns with the planned academic activities for the 2025/2026 year.

Lisbon, 5th of March 2025 – HYGIEIA Academic Board member Josep Tur recently visited Lusófona University, where he delivered an insightful seminar on “Environmental Sustainability, Food Sustainability, and Non-Communicable Diseases.”
During his presentation, Tur engaged with the Lusófona academic community, discussing the critical intersections between environmental health, sustainable food systems, and the rising global challenge of non-communicable diseases. His lecture provided valuable perspectives on how sustainable practices can contribute to better public health outcomes.
The event was well received by students, faculty, and researchers, fostering meaningful discussions on sustainability and its impact on long-term human health.
