What counts as a certified copy of the original document?

Certified copies are photocopies of original documents that are certified with a stamp and signature to confirm that the copies are true to the originals. New date of the certification must be included.

Which countries does the consortium consider to be countries of native English speakers?

Candidates from the following countries are not required to attach any other evidence of English proficiency: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the British Overseas Territories, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, UK, USA.

For candidates who have completed an entire degree programme fully taught in English in one of the native-English speaking countries listed above the proof of English proficiency is waived.

What are the minimum language proficiency requirements?

The working language of HYGIEIA is English. If English is not your first language, then you will need to submit evidence of one of the qualifications listed below:

• TOEFL: 250 (Computer based test) or 95 (Internet based test)

• IELTS: Overall minimum score is 7.0 with not less than 6.5 in any one component.

• UCLES: Proficiency in English: C1 Advanced or Grade B or A.

• DUOLINGO ENGLISH TEST: Overall score:130 [with no less than 125 in Literacy, Comprehension, Conversation, and Production]

• LANGUAGECERT ESOL: C1 Expert High Pass [minimum score of 33 in each skill, all components taken within 3 months]

The language of instruction at my higher educational institution was English but I do not have any language certificates. Can I apply? 

Yes, but you still need to submit evidence of your english qualifications through the tests described above.

Where can I apply for a residence certificate?

In several countries local government offices can certify your address, however each country has different responsible authorities. You should find out about yours.

The local authorities in my country provide residence certificate only for foreigners. How can I verify my address?

Apply for a certificate at your place of work, study or training. Your address must be included in the certificate.

My uplods are not beig uploaded on the portal when I am returning to a previously saved section?

The documents you upload while filling the application won't be saved, every time you go back to the application to edit you need to reupload. This is to make sure you upload the correct documents. We recommend you double check all uploads right before submitting to guarantee that they are there.

How can I find out if my degree is eligible or not?

HYGIEIA accepts degrees which are equivalent with European Qualification Framework Level 6 (or higher). You can find out about your degree's eligibility on this website.

How can I apply as an ongoing student if my diploma is due latest by 31 July 2026?

Apply for a certification of your expected diploma at the educational institution that will issue it. Remember to include exact dates of your study period and of the expected graduation.

What does the scholarship cover?

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship will cover the total tuition fee and will guarantee a monthly allowance of 1.400€ for the duration of the academic activities and/or maximum of 24 months, to cover installation, travel and subsistence costs.

Who is responsible for arranging travel and accommodation?
All students are personally responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The institution does not book flights, transportation, or housing on behalf of students.
